South African Tycoon “Butch” Kerzner Dies

Howard “Butch” Kerzner, son of South African casino tycoon Sol Kerzner (both pictured here) and a tycoon in his own right, died yesterday at the age of 42 when the helicopter he was travelling in crashed into a building in the Dominican Republic.

In an eerie coincidence, on the same day - exactly a month after the five year anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 - New Yorkers experienced a dreaded sense of déjà vu when a small plane carrying Yankees pitcher, 34-year old Cory Lidle, crashed into an apartment building in Manhattan, killing him and everyone else on board.

It just goes to show that it isn’t always safe to be a high-flying jetsetter, and no matter how much wealth a person accumulates on earth, the common denominator binding all the classes of the human race is that we are all mere mortals.
