Trendy London Restaurant offers free food to models

But before all the new ‘fat’ size 1 models stampede to Notting Hill to go and gorge themselves on the fish pies, lamb burgers, king prawns and scallops on offer for free at the Bumpkin restaurant, there’s a catch.

According to Reuters, only those models with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of less than 18 need to rock up to what we’re sure won’t be a feeding frenzy. And just to give you an idea, a BMI limit of 18 means a 5-foot-8 inch (173 cm) model must weigh at least 120 pounds (54 kg)! We didn’t even weigh that when we were BORN!

It’s very clever of Bumpkin, because not only are they getting the free publicity, but they are not going to have any losses whatsoever from their ‘generosity.’ And even if a few models are too drugged up to realise that they shouldn’t cave into their munchies, they won’t be able to manage more than a forkful.

The heaviness… or rather, lightness of models became a weighty issue last year when Madrid banned models with a BMI of less than 18 from taking part in fashion shows.

And just this morning we told you how five skinny models were again banned from the catwalks in Madrid.

We wish that the bumpkins at Bumpkin would offer free food to people who would WANT to eat it but who, unlike models, can’t afford to eat there.
