It’s almost back to the beginning for Genesis

Long gone are the days when ageing pop and rock stars dealt with their post mid-life crises by trading in their older wives for fresh young blondes.

Now they try to regain their lost youth by rounding up most of the surviving members of the former pop groups they had success with and go on reunion tours.

Sting and the Police are doing it. In Sting’s case, he may very well have tried to trade wife Trudie Styler in for someone else, but then he probably realised that no other women would have the time OR the patience to wait a whole week before he can bring her to orgasm. He can call it tantric sex or whatever he wants… We and Viagra call it the inability to get it up and keep it up.

So instead he reunited with the Police.

Now Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford and Tony Banks have announced the reunion of Genesis, sans former front man Peter Gabriel.

“It’s not like it’s a party that we’re holding that Peter didn’t come to,” Collins told a news conference, declining to explain further.

According to reports: “Genesis will tour Europe this summer, including a free concert at the Circus Maximus in Rome, and the band might participate on July 7 in former U.S. Vice President Al Gore’s “Live Earth” event, which is occurring in cities around the world.”

The North American leg of the tour is called “Turn Us On Again.” Okay, not really. It’s “Turn It On Again.” But frankly, we like our title better.

Maybe these groups will go on to win “Granny” Awards!
