Site-seeing: It’s a sign!
Our sporty colleagues over at Feverpitcher would probably be highly disgusted to hear this, but one of the only reasons we are looking forward to the Olympic Games in Beijing next year is to see the notorious, lost-in-translation, ‘Chinese-styled’ English signs throughout the city. (For example, outside tobacco shops, they have been known to advertise that they sell ’smoke’.)
But odd signs aren’t just in China, chinas!
The BBC website invites readers to send in their pictures of funny signs they’ve encountered all around the world.
