Yee-haw: It was the Country Music Awards, Y’All!

Country music’s biggest crooners cleaned up nicely for their major annual awards show last night. They dusted off their banjos (some of them even combed their hair!) before showing up for the show that was held in Nashville last night.

Nicole Kidman loaned her Hollywood mystique to the event by showing up with hubby Keith Urban. She looked absolutely stunning, as per usual (pic to come later today). Her flawlessness is almost beginning to bore us.
American Idol’s lone country-singin’ winner Carrie Underwood proved that she can sang with a twang even if the threat of being critiqued by Simon Cowell isn’t hanging over her pretty little head. She picked up two major awards: Female Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year for the girl’s guide to exacting revenge anthem Before he cheats.

A whole bunch of other cowboys also won awards (our pretend fandom of the genre only stretches that far, so please forgive us), but we would like to dole out our very own award for blondest moment of the night. A singer named Kellie Pickler (pictured here) said of her upcoming USO tour to the Persian Gulf to entertain the American troops: “It will be my first time going to the Gulf Coast.”

Oh, honey… are you in for a rude awakening! We wonder how long it will take her before she realises that she ain’t in a Mexican resort on the Gulf? When will it be? When she orders a Yager Bomb and receives a real bomb instead?
